Coach Applebee enters his 14th season as the Head Coach of the Jaguars. In twelve seasons, he has compiled a record of 115-36 and thirteen consecutive trips to the 5A State Football Playoffs. The Jaguars won back-to-back Kansas 5A State Championships in 2015 and 2016 and won their fourth consecutive 5A state title in 2022 for their sixth overall (2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022).

Coach Applebee is a graduate of Kansas State University. He has a Master's degree from Fort Hays State University. He and his wife Amanda have three children: Haden (17), Holden (14), and Lola (11).
