Coach Applebee enters his eighth season as the Head Coach of the Jaguars. In seven seasons, he has compiled record of 57-20 and seven consecutive trips to the 5A State Football Playoffs. The Jaguars won their second straight Kansas 5A State Championship in 2017.

The Jaguars had 16 All-EKL players in 2016, with 6 receiving first or second team honors, 3 First Team All-State honors from various outlets, one was also named All Class Top 11 as well as being selected to the Kansas Shrine Bowl. Coach Applebee was named the Kansas Class 5A Coach of the Year by the KFBCA and Kansas All Class Coach of the Year by the NFHS. The Jaguars broke 8 school records offensively and 2 defensively

Coach Applebee is a graduate of Kansas State University. He has a Master's degree from Fort Hays State University. He and his wife Amanda have three children: Haden (11), Holden (8), and Lola (5).
